Description
Silicone Defoamer
Silicone defoamers are emulsified defoaming agents made from dimethyl silicone oil and fumed silica as active components, combined with various emulsifiers, dispersants, chelating agents, and stabilizers through a special process. Based on formulation, they can be classified as neat type, O/W emulsion, or W/O emulsion.
The active components have low electronegativity, high hydrophobicity, and minimal hydrogen bonding, resulting in very low surface tension. They eliminate foam by reducing surface tension, breaking double electric layers, and forming bridges.
These defoamers are characterized by low volatility, high chemical stability, and fast defoaming speed. They are effective in both oil-based and water-based systems.
