Description

Drinking water-grade polyaluminum chloride is a new type of inorganic polymer water purifier, mainly composed of aluminum hydroxide, calcium aluminate, and hydrochloric acid. It is a medium to high-grade product second only to white polyaluminum chloride, mainly used for drinking water treatment. The content of heavy metals is strictly limited, especially for the drinking water-grade polyaluminum chloride products we produce. The water treated with it is clear without precipitation, with an Al₂O₃ content of about 30 (± 0.5). The powder is fine, the particles are uniform, the flocculation effect is good, the purification is efficient and stable, the dosage is small, and the cost is low. It is a water treatment flocculant specially used by major water plants for long-term cooperation.

Physical and Chemical Properties

  • Appearance: Usually light yellow granules or light yellow powder.
  • Solubility: easily soluble in water, forming a flocculating solution.
  • Alumina content: ≥ 29%.
  • Water insoluble content: less than 0.1%.
  • pH range: PAC works best in water treatment with a pH value of 5-9.

Production process

Drinking water grade polyaluminum chloride can be divided into two types according to the production process, namely: spray drying type and plate and frame pressure filtration type.
The spray drying process atomizes the polyaluminum chloride solution and then dries it into small particles, which have good dust resistance and fluidity. The pressure technology is used to spray the solution with a concentration of 40% -50% into the dryer, and then centrifugal atomization is used to generate positively charged multi-nuclear hydroxyaluminum complexes, which can provide excellent flocculation and precipitation effects.
Plate and frame filter type polyaluminum chloride converts liquid PAC into a light yellow transparent liquid with low water insolubility through plate and frame filter and drum drying. This product has good smoothness in pipeline transportation and low corrosiveness, thereby improving equipment efficiency, simplifying water treatment facilities, and reducing investment costs. It is generated by the reaction of aluminum ore powder and hydrochloric acid, and is an efficient and economical choice for water treatment agents.
Product Characteristics
Compared with industrial grade polyaluminum chloride, drinking water grade polyaluminum chloride has higher requirements and must comply with national standards. Drinking water grade PAC can precipitate charged colloidal particles generated in water through its larger specific surface area and stronger adsorption capacity in water treatment, achieving purification effect.
Spray drying PAC has less dosage when the water quality is poor, especially compared with drum drying products, the dosage can be reduced by half, which not only reduces the labor intensity of workers and machines, but also saves the water production cost of enterprises.
Features
Efficient water purification: Alumina content ≥ 29%, significant purification effect.
Rapid flocculation and settling: The flocculant is large and dense, with fast settling speed, improving treatment efficiency.
Strong adaptability: PH applicable value of 5.0-9.0, good adaptability to turbidity, alkalinity and temperature changes.
High safety: spray drying process, low heavy metal content, safe addition.
Low corrosiveness: less corrosion to equipment, easy to dissolve, low content of water-insoluble substances, not easy to block pipelines.
Wastewater treatment: strong decolorization, removal of COD, BOD and heavy metals, the effect is better than conventional agents.
Economical and efficient: high molecular weight, low dosage, low cost, better water purification effect than ordinary PAC.
Usage Instructions
First, dissolve the drinking water grade PAC into a solution of 10% -30%, and then dilute it with water to the desired concentration. The optimal pH value for addition is 3.5-5.0, and selecting the appropriate value can fully utilize the coagulation effect. Generally, 0.5-2 kg (5-20ppm) of the agent is added per 100 tons of turbid water. When the turbidity of the raw water is high, the dosage should be appropriately increased, and vice versa.

Precautions for Using Polyaluminum Chloride

  1. When using, a small test should be conducted based on the water quality to select the best point with good purification effect and small dosage. The solution should be used as needed, and the dosage for non-drinking water should be selected according to the actual situation.
  2. When using solids, first add water to dissolve it into a solution of 10% -25%, then dilute it with water to the desired concentration. When dissolving, add water first and then slowly add the material, and constantly stir.
  3. Different manufacturers or different brands of water treatment agents should not be mixed and should not be mixed with other chemicals.
  4. The original solution and diluent are slightly corrosive, but lower than other inorganic flocculants.

Packaging and Storage

Drinking water grade polyaluminum chloride (solid) is packaged in double layers, with non-toxic polyethylene plastic bags inside, with a thickness of not less than 0.05mm, plus woven bags. The net weight of each bag is 25kg or 50kg (depending on customer requirements).
Store in a cool and dry place, prevent sun and rain, and strictly prohibit storing with flammable, corrosive, and toxic items.
Due to the appropriate salt base degree, high polymerization degree, not easy to absorb moisture, stable quality, and a shelf life of 2 years.
During transportation, there should be a cover to avoid rain and moisture, and keep the packaging intact and clearly labeled.
